    What are the indications of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)?

    The indications of the polycystic ovary syndrome show difference in women. The indications may rarely occur very seriously or very lighly.

    The most frequent indications are menstrual irregularity and increase in hairing. Menstruation of 6 times or less in a year which is caused by the ovulation disorder and men’s type hairing as a result of elevation of men’s hormone (androgens) level in blood are seen.

    The other indications depending on the high androgen hormone are acne and men’s type hair loss.
    Other indications of the PCOS:

    • Obesity (fatness) because of the insulin resistance
    • Oily skin
    • Scalp with dandruff
    • Brown spotting on the skin
    • Being unable to get pregnant
    • High cholesterol
    • High blood pressure
    • Tiredness
    • Existence of milimetric cysts along with the ovaries.

    Diagnosis is made after two or more indications exist together and blood hormone levels support these indications.
